pr2nntp

This is a gate from RSS to NNTP and RSS readers killer. It is quite flexible, easy to use and maintain.

With a power of pr2nntp you can view all your feeds in your favorite news client. This means you may delete forever any RSS reader!

You don't need to belong to any specific feed tool from now and feel painfull inconvenience while switching, for example, to another OS. Just point your news clint to your NNTP server and enjoy!

I'm using this program from december 2006 and very happy with it.

Releases

Current version of pr2nntp is 0.2.4. It was released on Mon Oct 29 11:40:32 GMT 2007. For more info, read its NEWS file.

Requirements

Russian language. Sic. The reason is that all documentation of pr2nntp don't come in English in current release (sorry...);
NNTP server;
Tcl 8.4;
tDOM 0.8;
file downloader (wget or similar);
md5 command line checksum maker;
converter from HTML to plain text (for example, elinks browser).

Supported Platforms

pr2nntp runs on these operating systems regardless of the machine type:

FreeBSD
GNU/Linux

Note to Microsoft Vista users: if you want to use Vista's Mail program to read news, don't forget to get all updates from Microsoft before trying to do anything useful with it. Without that you can find some ill behaviour towards parsing of MIME bodies.
